Great History Of Madinah City:

Yathrib was the original name of Madina City. There was a significantly large Jewish population in the city by the time the Prophet Mohammad ﷺ migrated. The Prophet had sent Mus'ab-bin-Umair (R.A) on a mission to spread Islam (Tableegh) to the inhabitants of Yathrib around one year before the migration.

He converted a large number of the Ansar to Islam. During the Prophet's ﷺ and early Muslims' migration, the city provided them with a safe refuge. After the migration, Hazrat Mohammad ﷺ renamed the city Madinah Munawarah, replacing Yathrib.

In this sacred city, Prophet Mohammad ﷺ built the first-ever mosques of Islam, one is Masjid Al Quba & the other is Masjid Al Nabawi. When the Prophet came back from a journey and looked at Madinah's walls. Due to His love for Madinah, He would increase his speed and galloping if He was on a horse. The Masjid Al Nabawi is among the most popular places of worship for Muslims, second after the Holy Kabah in Makkah. The Prophet Mohammad ﷺ chose Madinah as his most favorite city. He referred to this city as his home.
